Premier Diabetic & Wound Care

Diabetic Care by Mobility Clinic

Neuropathy & Poor Circulation is the leading cause of diabetic amputation. Neuropathy is foot complications that most often develop when there is nerve damage, this can cause tingling, pain (burning or stinging), or weakness in the foot and ankle. These complications can also cause loss of feeling in your lower extremities caused by nerve damage that disables the individual from deciphering pain or injury that can ultimately lead to infection, circulation issues and loss of limbs.

The partial or total loss of sensation in nerve groups can lead to skin changes of/on and round the general area of the foot causing the skin to become very dry and may result in pealing and cracking that may lead to complications while wearing normal and everyday footwear.

Loss of sensation, poor circulation, skin changes, infections, calluses and foot ulcers can all be classified as causes leading to amputation for a diabetic, here at MobilityClinic, we would rather avoid the complications of amputations with a properly applied & customized orthotic, built specifically to tackle the needs of every patient at the start.
